Pregnancy and Birth

Midwifery care is designed to give you time, space, and support throughout your pregnancy. Visits are unhurried, personalized, and centered around your physical, emotional, and overall wellbeing. Midwives are experts in normal pregnancy and birth. As such, you will learn about how the importance of nutrition and optimal health in pregnancy allowing your to maximize the opportunity for a low risk/healthy birth and transition into your postpartum. This includes a practical preparation for your birth and for welcoming a newborn into your family. Since this is a family centered process, your kids, partner and any other family members of your choosing are always welcome in your visits.

PRENATAL SERVICES

  • Early pregnancy care starting at 6-10 weeks (may include an ultrasound referral and support for any concerns that may come up)

  • Initial visit and standard screenings offered starting at 10 weeks

  • Hour long visits with time for questions, counseling, education and support

  • Monitoring of vital signs and abdominal palpation

  • Conversations around pregnancy symptoms, nutrition, comfort, activity, and emotional wellbeing

  • Guidance through each stage of pregnancy, including upcoming milestones and testing options

  • Family centered care that is inclusive of kids, partners and other family members

  • 24-hour availability of a midwife throughout your pregnancy (via text or phone)

  • Lab work, urine testing, and cultures when appropriate

  • Ultrasound if desired and clinically appropriate

  • Referrals to trusted providers including doulas, chiropractors, therapists, and more

BIRTH SERVICES

Midwifery care is a safe and supportive option for birth. Studies have shown that Midwives have far fewer cases of preterm labor, pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes because we are able to spot lifestyle patterns and early indicators that lead to high risk conditions and offer a preventative plan for our clients. Licensed midwives offer not only comprehensive preventative care to encourage and support a normal birth, but are also highly trained to deal with emergencies if and when they arise.

Birth Services include home birth, water birth and co-care for a hospital birth. Our approach to birth is centered on safety, trust, communication, and support.

Your Birth Experience

  • Early and frequent communication with your midwife throughout early labor

  • Freedom of movement, and freedom to eat and drink

  • Guidance, patience, and continuous support throughout your labor

  • Ability to birth in any position that feels right for you

  • Birth tub and Birthing Stools are provided

  • Inclusion of family and support members including doulas always welcome and encouraged

  • Vitals and intermittent fetal monitoring throughout labor

Immediate Post-Birth Care and Newborn Care

  • Delayed clamping and cutting of the cord always provided and encouraged

  • Uninterrupted skin to skin contact between parent and baby throughout

  • Support for infant led latching and initial lactation experience support

  • Exploration, examination, and preparation of your placenta if desired

  • Complete ‘head to toe newborn’ examination

Clinical Care

Always offered as needed/desired and with informed consent

  • Suturing of first and second degree lacerations

  • Newborn procedures (Vitamin K and eye ointment)

  • Rhogam administration

  • Prevention and treatment for hemorrhage using same anti-hemorrhage drugs offered in hospital setting

  • Neonatal resuscitation

  • Bladder care as needed for urinary retention

  • IV hydration therapy if needed for dehydration or antibiotic therapy for GBS treatment

Coordinated Care

  • Coordination between home and hospital settings when needed

  • Communication with backup OB providers

  • Continuous care with midwife during and throughout transfer of care (in either emergent or non-emergent situation)

POSTPARTUM CARE

Postpartum care is designed to support both you and your baby as you recover, adjust, and find your rhythm together. Care continues beyond birth, with ongoing check-ins and support during this important transition.

What Postpartum Care Includes

  • Lactation support for even the most complicated experiences

  • Assessment of emotional and physical wellbeing in each visit

  • New family adjustment counseling including support with sibling transition

  • 24/7 on call support that includes text, phone call and in person visits

  • Family planning and contraception counseling

  • Review long term gynecological/reproductive health and preventative care

  • Offer gentle Pap and HPV testing if needed

We will also offer a three-month check-in to ensure you and your baby are continuing to thrive, and to provide any additional support or resources at that time.

Fertility & Gyn Services

Fertility Services

Preconception and fertility support focused on whole-body health, cycle awareness, and restoring balance. Fertility care is individualized and designed to help uncover underlying patterns that may be impacting conception or hormonal wellness.

Services may include:

  • Preconception counseling

  • Cycle tracking and fertility awareness education

  • Hormone and menstrual health assessment

  • Nutrition and lifestyle support

  • Support for irregular cycles, PMOS, and hormonal imbalance

  • Pregnancy preparation after loss

  • Holistic fertility support alongside assisted reproduction when desired

Care is collaborative, compassionate, and centered on helping you better understand and support your reproductive health.

Gynecology & Wellness

Gentle, relationship-based gynecologic care for every stage of life. Appointments are designed to provide unrushed, respectful care with time for education, questions, and individualized treatment planning.

Services include:

  • Wellness exams

  • Pap smears and cervical cancer screening

  • Breast health assessment

  • Menstrual and hormonal health support

  • Perimenopause and menopause care

  • Birth control counseling

  • STI testing and treatment

  • Vaginal infections and urinary health

  • Sexual and reproductive wellness care
